Why do we have so many policies?
When a client cancels or reschedules last minute we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time.
Why is punctuality important?
We work really hard to schedule the right amount of time for each service. Accommodating late guests is often impossible without disrupting every other guest scheduled that day. Please be aware in the unfortunate even you are late, we cannot guarantee that your service will be performed that day. You may reschedule for another day, but a $15 fee will apply for rescheduling. SEE CANCELLATION POLICY.

They’ve all gone through the same hours of training and take an intensive exam before being able to perform the procedure on an actual client. Whomever you end up with, you will be satisfied.
Does it hurt?

Generally, some people do have an allergic reaction to the product(s), but it’s probably because they don’t know they are allergic to it. But, it is a very small percent that people may develop a reaction. Our clients, it’s rare, we’ve had clients who have been our regulars for a long time, all of a sudden develop a reaction. A lot of factors plays into it, it can be the change of the season that can cause it or your natural body chemistry changes. The glue we carry, as does most, if not all lash extension glue, does have a small percentage of latex and formaldehyde.

Brows
Are they certified?
Yes, all brow technicians working for UVO are certified microblading artists.
What is 3D Eyebrow Microblading?
It is a “semi-permanent” makeup technique using a tiny, angled blade made of tinier needles by mimicking hair strokes. 3D eyebrow embroidering takes about two hours, which includes designing the eyebrow shape, numbing the skin, & the microblading itself.
Does the eyebrow microblading procedure hurt ?
No, it doesn’t hurt, the area is numbed first with topical anesthetic before and during the procedure. Pain tolerance level varies from different person. Clients report feeling no pain to slightly feeling a sensation of having insect bites or paper cuts.
Who can get eyebrow microblading?
Anyone over the age of 18.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. Sterilized, disposable needles and supplies are used during the process.
Can Microblading cause eyebrow hair loss or fall out ?
Does it cause any damage to the natural hair follicle? If the technician is doing correct microblading then it will not damage any hair. However, if there is an incident that the hair that was lost was only cut off with microblading. The root is intact and will grow back. It will take about one month for it to grow out.
How bad are the marks or scars of microblade?
There is no scarring to the area unless the procedure is done incorrectly. Microblading does not leave scar, since only a thin layer of the skin is punctured and deposited with ink . However, any cut on your skin will leave a scar. How visible these scars are depend on how your body heals. If your body is prone to scarring, then even ”micro-blades” can leave ”bumps” and scars.
Why did my microblading turn like a tattoo?
Yes, it can happen when the strokes are microblading close to each other, when healed it can blend together. When the lines are too ”perfect”, it can look unnatural. The lines should not all be the same size/thickness and should have a far gap.
Does it scab?
Yes, lightly scab or no scab at all. It depends on different people and their healing process.
How long is the healing process?
The healing process is 4-6 weeks. It can vary from individual and skin conditions. Clients who are diabetic healing can be slower.
How long can I put on makeup after microblading done?
Do not make contact with water, powders or any other liquids than what was recommended for 10 days after the treatment. Even a small drop, which seems unimportant, may expand the wound and scabbing will appear. You will want to avoid all makeup on the eyebrows for a minimum of 10 days. Makeup can have bacteria in it and freshly done microbladed eyebrows will increase your chances of infection.
Can I get my eyebrow microblading wet after 24 hrs ?
It is fine to wash the area after the procedure. Your skin begins healing immediately after the procedure and you have full re-epithelialization (covering the top layer of skin over the ”injury”) after 48 hours. Therefore washing the area will not make the pigment come out. The best thing to do is follow the instructions of the practitioner performing your procedure.
What is happening when eyebrow microblading scab and color disappears after first week of getting it done?
Fading almost to the point of it appearing to have disappeared is normal. It takes roughly 4-6 weeks to see the final healed result. In some cases, some of the color can still return. Most technicians offer a touch-up after the first procedure to perfect the eyebrows. During this appointment, your technician can assess the retention and make modifications the second time. Microblading in particular has a tendency to look very ”crisp” immediately after, but as it heals becomes softer and somewhat blended.
What is the long term effect of microblading?
Microblading treatments last up to a year and a half. Sometimes even three years depending on a variety of factors. It will fade completely with time if you do not do any touch up. When done correctly microblade brows can last anywhere from 1-3 years. For women in their 30s or younger, it will likely last less than a year. Retinol products and sun can lighten the pigment sooner. When done correctly the pigment is placed into the dermis. Our brows thin as we age which is why most people prefer to have their brows microbladed.
What should I be aware of before the procedure?
- We recommend coming to your appointment without any makeup on the brow area because your brow technician will go over the shape with you using their own products.
- No aspirin, niacin, fish oils, vitamin 3, ibuprofen 2-3 days before. Tylenol is okay.
- If you are on Accutane, you must be off Accutane for 1 year.
- Do not consume any alcohol the day before.
- Avoid working out or sweating the day before.
- If you wax your eyebrows, it must be done 3 days or more before your appointment.
- If you have Botox done, you must wait 1-2 months before getting the procedure done.
How many procedures will I have to do?
After the first initial appointment, you will need to come back for a touch up after 4-8 weeks. The new layer of skin has grown over the pigment by then, so it will become anywhere from 30-70% lighter. In some cases, the body full absorbs the ink and the semi-permanent tattoo disappears. In other cases, because of a variety of factors including body chemistry, medication, or sun exposure, the pigment might even change color. The touch up is an opportunity for the technician to fix any changes that may have occurred and/or to make any small corrections or changes to the shape. After the touch up appointment, it is completely up to you when you would like to come back. But keep in mind that Microblading treatments lasts about a year and a half and will fade completely with time. We recommend getting your touch ups done every 6-8 months.
Do I need to take a day off work?
No. There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within an hour after. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living.
What’s the process like?
Eyebrow microblading is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch up between 4-8 weeks after. After taking your before photo, the brow design will be drawn in pencil so you get an idea of shape and form. (Please note that nobody’s face is totally symmetrical and you need to be realistic with your expectations. There is no point in trying to make the eyebrows identical or match a photo of your favorite celebrities’ eyebrows if your face shape looks nothing like theirs.) Once we have agreed on a final shape (ultimately it is your decision - but the brow technician will always voice their opinion on what they think suits you aesthetically), your eyebrows will be shaped then they will decide on the color. Shortly after that, a topical anesthetic will be administered to ensure comfort. Once you’re numb, the pigment is deposited. During healing, it’s normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why we have the touch up in place.
How do I extend the life of the procedure?
Your eyebrows will last longer if you apply sunblock often and avoid abrasive facial treatments in the brow area.
How many colors do you have?
Of the handful of colors we use, we can blend several to achieve even more shades to suit the client. ALL clients who have had the procedure done will be conscious they have brows that are very obvious, however please bear in mind, the skin has been broken to allow the pigment to settle, and healing has yet to take place.
Do you have to shave off my own eyebrows?
No. Every attempt is made to retain all natural hair and integrate it into the design of the permanent eyebrows. In some cases, where shaping of the natural brow is required, a few hairs here and there may need to be removed to create a clean and aesthetically pleasing result.
I have heard some clients just do not retain pigment even after a few visits. Could this happen?
Yes, it does happen and yes it’s true. A third appointment may be set up so the client has the opportunity to return and we get the chance to review the work and sort out any (if any) tweaks that might need to be done. Often times the clients do not make this appointment as all is usually well, however there are the occasional few that may need one or two extra strokes to finish off the look. Some ladies skin may react to the trauma of the tattooing, and the skin may try to push out the foreign body of pigment by producing an extreme scab, so they eventually fall off taking all the pigment with it. There is a condition called Pigment Allergy (PPD Allergy, a condition known by dermatologists) or Autoimmune disease symptoms (the client may not even be aware of it). The skin would have over reacted and become super sensitive to the pigment and reject it at any cost.
Can you guarantee your work?
Unfortunately, we can’t. How the skin will react is different for everyone and many factors are to be taken into consideration. Skin type, age, scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products used, etc. all play a key role in how the pigment will hold, which is why it is important to know that more than one touch up may be required. We can guarantee that your face is important and we will act in accordance with our experience and expertise to give you our absolute best. We can guarantee that we will strive to make you gratified and content every time. But there are no guarantees in this industry. Please think long and hard before you decide to go for it.
What if I don’t like it?
Although Microblading is considered to be semi-permanent, the procedure does allow flexibility for color or shape change to some extent. However, we will work closely with you to ensure that you are satisfied with the proposed technique. We will allow you to have as much control over the procedure as possible, so there’s very little room for error. If you do not like the decision you made, the touch up can be cancelled and the pigment area naturally fades away over time. If you aren’t 100% sure you would benefit from this procedure, please opt for a more temporary option.
